you ever turn on a morning your PC with which you worked until the night before and finds the Desktop without folders, My Documents without your precious files and have a bad feeling for the first time you turn on the computer as when you bought it?
Well, this is a chance that what I saw on the Web has been a problem that affected many users of Windows Vista!
Perhaps the good news is that you have lost neither the data nor the system settings, but it's just that Vista has decided to add a little '(a lot') your monotonous day!
First we need to verify that the data are actually in the folders, the first OK to say everything is fine.
Vista (like 7), the system folders (desktop, documents, downloads ...) in C: \\ Users \\ username
If the files are there, then you go to the next step.
Windows Vista, in an arbitrary way (I can not understand why, but I can imagine that, probably, according to some file system problems if neglected, or when the Anti Virus sclera) changes within the registry configuration (called Registry ) the profile folder that we created, creating the situation described above.
Then you must work there where no one likes to operate: il Registry !!!
A questo punto, dalla console, (nel caso non riuscissimo a trovare l'icona del Prompt dei comandi , possiamo visualizzare Esegui nel pulsante Start) controlliamo prima il percorso che compare.
Il caso che ho avuto sottoposto, indicava C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile che è diverso da quello che mi potevo aspettare.
Digitiamo regedit e diamo invio
Nel percorso:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
troviamo alcuni profili del PC:

Come possiamo osservare dall'immagine (anche se qui sto visualzzando il vecchio profilo che ho rinominato), il primo profilo è quello che generalmente parte.
Nel caso specifico S-1-5-18
Per risolvere il problema, basta cambiare l'indirizzo del ProfileImagePath (cliccando due volte sulla scritta) e mettere quello del nostro vecchio profilo, nel caso specifico
Chiudiamo il Registry e riavviamo il PC.
